Blackwood Winery is located in Nannup is a small, picturesque town, situated in the heart of the South West of Western Australia. It nestles among rolling green hills, bordered by the Blackwood River and is surrounded by farmland and Jarrah forest.
Conveniently situated in the centre of Nannup, Blackwood Wines features a winery, restaurant and fine art, complimented by a beautifully landscaped garden.
Browse around the antiques and works of art before tasting the wine either indoors or out on the verandah which overlooks a scenic lake.
A relaxing lunch or morning and afternoon tea can be taken watching the birdlife on the water. Ducks and domesticated geese also join in the fun. After lunch take time out and enjoy a game of boules in the gardens.
Blackwood Wines have used the tiger print as their distinctive logo.
This is because of many local sightings of the Nannup Tiger (thylacine).
Locals believe the striped, wolf-like marsupial lives in the Jarrah forest
surrounding Nannup. The tiger print is a reminder that the marsupial mysteriously appears only to vanish again into thin air, leaving only footprints in the clay to hint that it ever appeared at all.
